Dr. George Kosmadakis is a Research Director at SESL since 2026. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (2003), a M.Sc. in “Energy Production and Management” (2004), and a Ph.D. (2011) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His doctoral research focused on hydrogen combustion and emissions through the development of a 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code.

Since 2006, Dr. Kosmadakis has served as a lead researcher on numerous European (FP7, H2020) and national projects at the Agricultural University of Athens and NTUA. His expertise expands to waste heat recovery via Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology, heat pumps, solar energy, and desalination systems. In 2017, he joined NCSR “Demokritos” as an Adjunct Researcher, focusing on industrial high-temperature heat pumps. Since 2019, he has served as (co-)Principal Investigator for diverse research initiatives involving energy systems in the building, industrial, and marine sectors.
