RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The laboratory conducts mainly applied research and experimental development, arising from the needs of the productive sector, the ties with which have been built through the services offered by the laboratory in a wide field of applications and over a number of years. However, in this effort the laboratory personnel is often faced with the need to answer questions that concern fundamental physical phenomena and expand the current knowledge, especially in the fields of fluid flow, heat/mass transfer and thermodynamics.
Therefore, problems are often dealt with at the basic research level, by using suitable analytical methods (modeling and simulation) along with experimental methods. The specific research areas of the Laboratory are:
