Mr. George Meramveliotakis is a research associate at the Laboratory of Solar and Other Energy Systems, since 2024. He holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he is also pursuing a Ph.D. focusing on the modeling and experimental investigation of renewable energy-based systems combining solar and geothermal energy sources with heat pumps. He has worked at NCSR “Demokritos” as a research associate, contributing to various EU and nationally funded projects (since 2021), and in the industry as an R&D Mechanical Engineer (since 2023). His research interests focus on the design, thermodynamic analysis, simulation, and experimental testing of heat pumps for building and industry, as well as their integration with renewable sources. He also has experience in the simulation and experimental testing of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems and high-temperature heat pumps (HTHPs), with a particular emphasis on waste heat recovery. Furthermore, he has gained experience in industrial automation, specialized in the control of heat pumps and refrigeration systems.
